A long, deep, rectangular cat with a low-slung, powerful look and high shoulders. Bold, branching vertical stripes run over a bright orange ground, the face aims for circular tiger-like markings, and a gold glitter lifts the coat.12

The story where it all began
Judy Sugden, daughter of Bengal pioneer Jean Mill, began the Toyger in the 1980s after spotting unusual temple markings on her cat. She later imported a street tom from Kashmir with spotted head markings, and TICA accepted the breed in 1993 before granting championship in 2007.12
